This Tank Command Car is beautifully reproduced from the full size tank. The original fifteen Ausf. B tanks were produced in 1937, with new suspension containing two leaf springs on two bogie trucks that had four wheels each and three return rollers. The exhaust system and driver's vision port were modified from earlier models. A new commander's cupola was installed (identical to the PzKpfw IV). The rear deck and air louvers were also changed. Between 1937 and 1938, five chassis were used for the 0-series of the StuG III. In October 1940, five (which had previously been used in experimental Sturmgeschutz) were given back to the armored troops for use as training vehicles. The Ausf. B was used in Poland but withdrawn before the invasion of France. Renowned master model designer, Mr.Yoshikatsu Tomioka, aided by the thorough research of Mr. Thomas Jentz, has created another superbly accurate model to delight seasoned WWII armor modelers.
