AFV Super Detail Vol.7 "Pz.Kpfw.II Ausf.F" Being hastily developed as a stopgap, the PzKpfw II was built to supplement the delays of both the lightweight tank the PzKpfw III which was secretly designated as ZW when it was in development stage, and the medium tank the PzKpfw IV which was also secretly designated as BW. Intended only as tentative measure until the PzKpfw III and IV to be fully fielded, the PzKpfw II was so excellent being comparable enough with main battle tanks during the early Blitzkrieg stage of the war. The hull of the tank was later applied to Marder II and Vespe, eventually to be used till the end of the war. The detail photographs in the book mainly show the PzKpfw II Ausf. Fs including ones of a privately owned example which had been very finely restored by its owner.
